Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) Job Description
A Pharmacist in Charge oversees and manages the pharmacy’s operations, ensuring that all activities are in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. A PICC is responsible for supervising pharmacy staff, overseeing medication dispensing practices, and ensuring the delivery of safe and effective pharmaceutical services. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality care for patients.
Typical Pharmacist in Charge Duties:
- Manage the daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring the accurate and efficient dispensing of medications and pharmaceutical services.
- Ensure that all pharmacy practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including medication storage, record-keeping, and handling controlled substances.
