Pharmacy Technician Job Description
A pharmacy Tech assist pharmacists in delivering high-quality care by preparing and dispensing medications, managing inventory, and providing excellent customer service. A pharmacy technician is detail-oriented, efficient, and passionate about supporting patient health through accurate and timely pharmacy operations.
Typical Pharmacy Technician Duties:
- Assist pharmacists in processing prescriptions, measuring and packaging medications accurately, and labeling them according to guidelines.
- Provide friendly and professional service to customers, answering questions and addressing concerns about prescriptions and over-the-counter products.
- Maintain and manage pharmacy inventory by restocking medications, checking for expired products, and placing orders as needed.
- Accurately input and update prescription and patient information in pharmacy software systems.
- Follow all applicable federal, state, and local laws, as well as pharmacy policies and procedures.
- Work closely with pharmacists and other team members to ensure smooth daily operations and efficient workflow.
